Corcovado is a mountain in central Rio de Janeiro ( 710-metre granite peak) . It is known worldwide for the 38-meter statue of Jesus, entitled Cristo Redentor or "Christ the Redeemer".

On 7 July 2007, Christ the Redeemer was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World
